About Young at Heart
Boomers Next Step
Many people of the baby boomer generation reach retirement age without adequate savings and no additional income to rely on, despite a lifetime of working.
The website Young at Heart encourages readers to consider ways in which they can boost their income whilst still enjoying a great lifestyle.
We offer resources to assist our readers to get employment if that is their choice, and introduce them to the opportunities available using online business skills and strategies if they are attracted to a laptop lifestyle.
We can help you design the life you want then realistically work towards creating it.
Jenni Proctor
Jenni Proctor is a Brisbane based career consultant who specializes in assisting older workers and people making a transition from work to their next phase of life.
In the early 1990’s she assisted her husband David through a turbulent career change, and this fueled her life long interest in career change and career development. She then underwent her own complete career transition, from teacher librarian to career professional, doing a Master of Career Development whilst working full time with three teenagers still in high school. She acknowledges now that this was "fairly mad"!
It was also very fulfilling for her and opened a whole new world.
She won national awards in Career Education early in her new career, and then developed a special interest in assisting older workers to recognise how they can make the most of their lifetime of experiences and skills, love their work and enjoy life. Career counselling and coaching became my profession but when she became self-employed she also needed to learn all about online marketing strategies, which she found fascinating.
David and she have bucked the usual trend and have been married since 1980, having met whilst travelling in Europe. She believes if you can travel with someone you can get through most dramas in life together!
They are the proud parents of three great young adults and delight in their role as Nanna and Poppy to four wonderful little girls.
Boomers’ Next Step History
YoungAtHeart.info was created and developed by Bill Vick in 2011, a well respected career and recruitment strategist from USA. I would like to acknowledge the outstanding work he put into this site, the excellent content he developed and the great interviews he conducted, all still highly valued posts on this site.
Jenni Proctor purchased the site in 2013, maintaining it as a US based site adding new content and removing older, irrelevant content.
The site was professionally redesigned in January 2019 and transfered to YoungAtHeart.info, because it was intended to grow this part of the Australian business . New content since then includes interviews with "Silver Sages", older people with interesting businesses or life experiences. These interviews have been extremely popular when posted on social media.
In 2022 Jenni decided the time had come to take her own advice and live the retirement lifestyle that she wanted. It had always been planned that BoomersNextStep would be a part of her retirement, continuing to grow the site for many more years after she stopped working with clients.
But life got in the way!
She decided to "hand the baton" over to a new owner and spend quality time following her own advice travelling and enjoying herself.

Next Step
2022 New ownership and name
In April 2022, "Boomers Next Step" was gradually transitioned to "Young at Heart".
The basic premise of the site is to be exactly what Jenni Proctor and Bill Vick envisaged in giving baby boomers advice to create a future they will love.
In addition there will be 2 "Young at Heart" sites focusing on giving baby boomers more value for their limited cash, seniors discounts, vouchers and low cost medical items like Hearing Aids and Spectacles.
