Being part of an online community

We recently attended a great business event, three days in a capital city about 1000 kms from home.  We arrived knowing only two people and left feeling part of a strong online community that we can interact with daily.

Being part of an effective helpful online community becomes very important to you when you are creating an online business from home. Becoming part of a business community, people who are striving for similar goals and who understand the work you are doing, is vital to help you avoid the loneliness and isolation of working alone.

This sort of community becomes your business support network.  They become the people who answer your questions, or who you help by answering theirs.  You take seek out the new books they have read or the new podcast or webinar that has taught them something. They can also become friends, and it is a great joy to meet them in person when you attend a live event.  This sort of online community can be local or international, depending on the business you are in, but their support is real and can contribute significantly to the success of your business.
