A day trip to Assisi from Rome

It is possible to do a day trip from Rome to Assisi. Assisi is located in the Umbria region of Italy, and it’s approximately 175 kilometers (about 109 miles) north of Rome. The journey between Rome and Assisi takes around 2.5 to 3 hours by car or around 2 to 2.5 hours by train.

Here are the two common methods of transportation to get from Rome to Assisi:

  1. Train: You can take a train from Rome’s main train stations, such as Roma Termini or Roma Tiburtina, to Assisi. There are frequent train connections between these cities, making it convenient for a day trip. It’s recommended to check the train schedules in advance and book your tickets accordingly.   2. Car: If you prefer more flexibility and independence, you can rent a car in Rome and drive to Assisi. The journey takes around 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on traffic and the route you take.
